Zero sugar, extra creamy, nog, and more varieties of Chobani oat milk are now available.

Chobani Oat Milk Drinks feature organic, gluten-free, Non-GMO, sun-dried oats from the Saskatchewan prairies, Canada, with the new Zero Sugar being the only exception. These oats are ground by Chobani in a manner that is centuries old, yet modern methods are used to provide a creamy, fluid finish.

Isn’t the Plain “Zero Sugar” Too?

An order against the producer Oatly states that while making oatmilk through an enzymatic process, the oat starch is broken down into simple sugars, which effectively produces sugars that must be labeled as “added sugars.” Chobani uses an enzymatic technique in addition to traditional milling to digest the oats. Because of this, even though their Plain flavors have a high “added sugars” claim on the nutrition facts label, they actually contain no sugar as an ingredient. However, they allegedly “tweaked” the procedure to enable them to produce oatmilk with zero sugars. Please be aware though that their more recent “zero sugar” variation does not contain organic oats.

Vitamin D Note

They don’t expressly name vitamin D as a component, but it appears to be in their “nutrient extract blend.” According to the manufacturer, “Vitamin D is sourced from fruit and vegetables,” making it suitable for vegans.
